Insurance

Insurance Accepted

We accept most dental PPO insurance plans.  Dental insurance is intended to cover some, but not all of the cost of your dental care.  Most plans include co-insurance, deductibles and certain other expenses which must be paid by the patient at the time of services.  Please bring your insurance plan information with you on your first visit.  We will work with you to ensure you receive the maximum benefits.

The following PPO insurances we accept:

KAISER PERMANENTE                       DELTA DENTAL          DOMINION NATIONAL

Insurance Processing

Most insurance companies will respond within four to six weeks.  Please call our office if your statement does not reflect your insurance payment within that time frame.  Any remaining balance after your insurance has not paid is your responsibility.  We can make arrangements for a monthly payment plan but this must be done prior to the actual procedure.  The payment is due at the time service is rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

The Difference Between HMO and PPO Plans?

The difference between HMO and PPO plans includes the size of the plan network, ability to see specialists, plan costs, and coverage for out of network services.

PPO  plans come with a list of dentists that accept the plan.  It also provides more flexibility when you picking a dentist.  You can visit almost any dentist and still receive full or partial coverage for the services.  You can switch dentists at any time without having to call the insurance company.  But you’ll save more money if you see a dentist who’s in the network.  Most companies pay 50% on major treatment (crowns, bridges, partials), 80% for basic care (fillings), and up to 100% for preventative care (exams, x-rays, basic cleanings).

For more PPO specifics, read more about PPO plans.

HMO give you access to a list of dentists that accept within the network.  You must use a dentist who  participates in the plan’s provider network.  A network dentist has made an agreement with your insurance company to charge up to a certain dollar amount for covered services.  A network is made up of providers that agreed to lower their rates for plan members and also meet quality standards.  If you do not like the dentist you were assigned, you need to request that the company reassign you to a new one.
